Town Meeting in South Hadley Massachusetts has overwhelmingly approved funding of the New South Hadley Public Library designed by Johnson Roberts Associates. This Town Meeting vote follows approval at the ballot by residents of the Town. The new South Hadley Public will be built on a site overlooking the Holyoke Dam on the Connecticut River in South Hadley.
The Pearle L. Crawford Memorial library in Dudley, Massachusetts has Received a LEED Silver Certification from the United States Green Building Council. The library celebrated the achievement at a ceremony on Saturday December 3, 2011. The “green” design includes a photovoltaic array, a high efficiency induction HAVC system, materials with recycled content, water conserving fixtures, and a daylighting system. The Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners has given the project a Green Library Incentive Grant.
