EZ-Pass Service Center, MassDOT

Boston, Massachusetts

The EZ-Pass Service Center is currently housed in a non-universally accessible area of a 1960s-era MassDOT building, located in East Boston.

To meet accessibility requirements and to answer to increased customer volume, the EZ-Pass Service Center will move to another part of the building: an underused garage bay. The renovation will provide an at-grade entrance and vestibule, the number of transaction counters will be double, and new support spaces, such as a Violations Hearing Room, Office, Break Room and public toilet facilities, will be developed and constructed.

In addition, the design includes bold signage to increase visibility from nearby highways, and will provide an improved environment for patrons and workers.
