Johnson Roberts Associates worked with the Town of Ayer to preserve and restore the historic Ayer Town Hall, built in 1876.
The project provides much need facility updates and accessibility improvement while preserving the building’s historic elements. Accessibility improvements include the insertion of an elevator and an egress stair. On the interior, complete renovations preserve the historic features while updating building systems and modernizing office space. On the exterior, restoration effort revived the polychromed brick, tile, and stone exterior.
The Ayer Town Hall received the 2003 Massachusetts Historical Commission Preservation Award.
