Cambridge City Hall, Multi-Department Relocation Plan

Johnson Roberts Associates has begun design work with the City of Cambridge on a significant renovation to Cambridge City Hall. Designed by architects Longfellow, Alden & Harlow and constructed in 1889, the Richardsonian Romanesque-style building is one of the most historically significant structures in Cambridge. The multi-phased project will provide new space for many departments (including office space for City Councilors, a new Assessor’s Suite, a new Credit Union, and City Clerk Archival Storage), handicap accessibility upgrades through-out the entire facility (including a new elevator, a new HC accessible entrance off of Dottie Way, and new public toilet rooms), as well as exterior upgrades (including selective window replacement and rehabilitated front entrance plaza).
