The new Greenfield Public Library responds to the community’s desire for an improved and expanded library in a downtown location by constructing the new library adjacent to the existing library. The two-story plan will create a new children’s library with a dedicated story room, community meeting spaces, informal reading areas, a dedicated teen room and adult reading and study areas.

Earlier, we completed a thorough feasibility study to explore site options for renovation, expansion and new construction. The new library is funded in part by a grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners (MBLC). In November 2019, the Town voted to fund the required match for the MBLC grant.
