The new Hadley Public Library consists of an energy-efficient one-story, slab-on-grade, steel framed building, with steel framed sloping roofs, concrete frost walls and footings, connections to and extensions of utilities in the both the street and on-site, new paved parking lot and drives, lawns, landscaping, and associated sitework. The site is shared with the Hadley Senior Center, which was built at the same time, and site design and approvals done in conjunction with edm architects. An MBLC grant was applied for in 2016, which funded the project.

This sustainable design — with all electric building and VRF system and no fossil fuels — reduces energy usage by 82%.
