Our addition and renovations to the historic 1890 Haston Free Public Library (in North Brookfield, Massachusetts) restored the original library’s historic beauty, and provided much-needed extra space for expanded library services.

Located on a tight site with limited room for expansion, the Haston Free Public Library project was a challenge. Careful planning allowed for an addition that includes a new, handicap accessible entrance, an elevator, and new bookstack areas. Circulation and reading spaces were improved by taking advantage of the library’s distinct historic ambience while bringing library services into the 21st century.
