Some members of Johnson Roberts’ staff recently toured our soon to be completed Essex Police and Fire Station project, where furnishings and equipment will soon begin to arrive. It was exciting to see the results of years of had work.
Our new design provides space for both police and fire departments, which they’ve had to share in their old station, along with new amenities such as a large meeting and training room, conference room, physical training space, secure storage, holding cells, and a sallyport. The new station also improves security and separation between apparatus areas and living/working spaces to prevent cross-contamination and protect first responders from carcinogens. A training room is designed to serve as an Emergency Operations Center (EOC) if the need arises.
